Achievement Spam weekend

I actually feel a bit guilty.  Roshii and Souglyy have asked many many times in guild to do stuff, and I never say we should do it because we don't usually get a good turnout, and then we bring people who aren't really that serious about achieves.  When you do achievements, EVERYONE has to be on board or people get frustrated.  Ages ago I wrote about doing OpenRaid, and I netted some old BoT and BWD achieves in there but I hadn't gone back since (I had a bad run after and kinda got distracted by other stuff).  The two of them found OpenRaid and have happily been doing that, and I'm really pleased - the guilt of not doing the stuff for them has eased somewhat, and now they have something to do besides levelling alts.  They're really excited about their achieves, and I can't wait to see the new mount they got (they did a Firelands run in OpenRaid and got the achieves for their mount - yay grats to you two!).  I feel bad dragging everyone around for my achieves, so I'm glad they got theirs - now I don't feel so bad when I PuG mine!

Look all purple!  What a great matching mount and mog! :)
Arvash asked me to hang with Shadow Rising on Saturday, and I said I would, because he dangled the CHEEVES word in front of me.  And, I get to go with a bunch of people I know, who are reliable, which made me feel a bit more comfortable.  Lushnek was over at my place hanging out, so he scored an invite too.  There was room for 2 more but Roshii and Souglyy were already in a BoT/BwD at the same time so I couldn't invite them LOL!  But, I asked Exray to come on Apollyon and he was happy to come.   Sorry Pel, I stole your tank for dungeons! :D

They hit BoT up first.  It was all done on heroic, so I got all my heroic achieves I was missing.  Halfus still hurts solo tanking!  I healed my guts out and Arv still died!  The debuff...  Anyway, next was the dragons and we had a wipe trying to do Double Dragon, but we got it on the second go.  You don't have to kill the dragons to get it, interestingly.  And that achievement, I am unsure, but I think you can only do it on heroic.  I remember trying to do it on normal, and it didn't work.

Surely this was named after the old Taito game Double Dragon!
On to Ascendant Council and we stuffed up the Elementary (we saw the second pool and called WIPE!! but bloody dots ticked it over!  That and the damn tanks obviously do epic damage with their hammers/swords) but those that was another heroic achievement for those like me who needed it.
They said wipe!  Now I look like a damn noob.
Then on to Cho'gall... and I could see we weren't going to do The Abyss will gaze back into you because people were stacking corruption really high.  Have to go back some time to do that.  However, after that we did Sinestra and that was a pretty cool fight - now I am a Dragonslayer!  Yay!

On to Blackwing Descent.  Magmaw was a little messy...

Omnotron Defense System was next and in typical SR fashion it was smash and bang! Achievement!  Rep missed out on one part of the achievement for Achieve-a-tron - not sure why everyone else got it - and people got their heroic achievement.

Maloriak was next.  It was the waiting game that was the hardest, waiting for those adds to come out...

Then onto Atramedes.  I didn't think we'd get the achievement because Exray (Apollyon) was on 50 sound but someone hit the gong JUST in time!

Nefarian wiped us the first time, but we got it the second time - everyone was blasting him so that he would go below 50% and he did so we got our double achieve yay!

Exray was funny.  He asked me if I knew these people, because he thought they were really cool people!  I laughed and had to tell Lyss and Arv what he said, and she said something along the lines of  "Of course, what else would he think??" Heh.  And I agree, those Shadow Rising peeps are damn cool, for letting us tag along on their achievement run.  It was a nice way to spend a bit of time on a Saturday :D

I walked away with the heroic T11 helm, which was a shame because I really want the non heroic one and the non heroic shoulders!  I decided to make a set using the heroic stuff, because it looks like I'll be getting THAT rather than getting the normal stuff.  So what do you think of this set?  A bit too bland?

So in the ridiculous hours of morning, I decided to do a Firelands run.  I wanted some gear from there for transmog and thought maybe if I'm lucky I might get my Alysrazor achievement, which makes me pull my hair out.  But, the only achievement I got was Heroic Ragnaros, and I dragged Dahahka in with me for that, and it was surprisingly easier than I thought.  Must have been so hell in the day.

Dah got the fire kitty staff, he was pretty chuffed :)  I picked up some purple transmog pieces but all in all it was a good night.  And a damn late finish.  I queued LFR after that and finally did the 3rd part of ToT LFR.

What a day!

  2. Gratz!! So many achievements, I am jelly! I want to get lots of points in 1 day.

If you ever need people, you know you can drag me along to anything. :)

I love OpenRaid! :D I have done some really fun raids and met some really awesome (and not-so-awesome) people. I keep meaning to sign up for stuff but other things distract me lately. Need to start working on last tiers raid achievements.

  5. Grats, Navi!

That outfit looks awesome. I don't think it looks bland at all -- muted or subdued instead of candy-bright, perhaps -- the dark colors make the bronzes really shine. :D

    1. Thanks Kam! I was going to ask you to make me something with that headpiece though - preferably with something that's not too difficult to obtain to match :D

  8. Gratz on the 'Cheeves.

I have a difficult time planning out Mogs. I win a piece I like and have so little idea of how to complement it. I love it when something comes together, but it happens far too rarely for me. Your T11 and purple mogs look great and seem to have come together without much effort. How hard was it?

Sometime I'd love to see a post where Navimie's brain explains how an outfit came together!

    1. Thanks Kall :) About how outfits come together... it's mostly hours of Mogit whilst I try to find something that works with what I have. I would like to see someone the workings of someone like Draynee or Kamalia or Cymre in regards to finding good stuff to wear!
