I've been so busy at work since I got made guild leader IRL that all the time that I used to spend blogging is now spent doing phone calls, meetings, policies, redevelopment forums and performance reviews that I have no time anymore to be able to blog. Of course, I'm still playing WoW (and avoiding Classic - I had a whole post in mind about that!) as much as I used to at home after work - and Frostwolves is quiet but still alive and kicking whilst achievement hunters such as myself, Crooked, Coffee and Spanky and Fin are around!<div>

Who knows when I will be back - but for now, thank you for all your years of support and all the friendships. I am still in game, so say hi if you see me and if you're alliance - I'm sorry if I've been killing you in Nazjatar LOL!</div>

We weren't using our cooldowns very well, and Crooked and Mesa got together so that in the next raid week, Mesa would do raid calls and Crooked would do healing cooldowns.<br />
<br />
That worked out pretty well. We cleared the first 6 on Wednesday this week (though it was a bit messy on Queen's Court, but we got it just before the end of raid - super messy kill.<br />
<br />
So on Thursday we got our cooldowns timed right, movement and placement a bit better... and we managed to get it by the end of the night! Yay!<br />
<br />

Now onto Azshara!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-17897336363338814552019-07-26T07:44:00.000+10:002019-07-29T12:21:27.650+10:00Fail Friday (but it was on a Saturday) - Mechagon and pre-set gear setsHK hadn't done Mechagon and neither had Moo or Sev, so we decided to go off on Saturday and do it.<br />
<br />
Then... IT happened again.<br />
<br />
We got a group together with HK, Moo, Sev and Gravy, and I was thinking to myself that I had to work pretty hard healing this trash and bosses compared to when I did it with Mesa and Mag. That time was my first time and I had no idea what was going on and we winged the bosses.<br />
<br />
So it was after the third boss when I went to look at my ilvl and it was WOEFUL. Uh oh.<br />
<br />
Yep, I had somehow managed to do the fight without an offhand. AGAIN.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Fortunately the rest of the instance went without incident. And it was a lot easier too.<br />
<br />

We actually had 20 people turn up for raid, which was pretty cool. Still, they need to get to know one another and it's still a work in progress getting them to tank as a team. However, we at least got to Azshara on Thursday, but we didn't get it down.<br />

<br />
Lots of upgrades went out, and then on Monday, HK was away so we decided to give Heroic a bash. It was actually a toss-up between Heroic Sivara and normal Azshara, and we had a few votes for each, but we ended up doing Sivara.<br />
<br />
Luckily, we managed to get that down, so a few nice shiny 430s went out.<br />
<br />
I think it was the right choice - raids are scaled correctly now (ie moving from doing heroic last tier to starting on normal next tier). Crooked was leading with Mesa helping, and that seemed to go well. I had some whispers saying he did a good job, and I fed that back to him - to which he just shrugged. Crooked's not really the type to take praise and get puffed up about it.<br />
<br />
Overall, the raid is quite enjoyable! I am enjoying some of the different fights. Healing wise feels quite strong this tier for me, but that may be an early tier thing. The guild bank is full of money and contributions of mats for feasts has made sure we're well stocked.<br />
<br />
So who is on the raid roster this tier?<br />
<br />
Tanks: Aimei, Kryforlight<br />
Healers: Navimie, Ramfu, Crooked, Genowen, Dishpriest<br />
DPS: Sevrus, Madcow, Mag, Pancake, Blindnotdeaf (Battou), Deciphel, Sychosoula, Goodgravy, Eirianna, Finadama, Galestion and Xhaka<br />
<br />

If you wear the cloak Azsh'ari Stormsurger cape (one of the benthic capes) you can see a whole bunch of items for sale on all the murloc vendors around Newhome. It apparently only happens twice a month that these items are up. Now, I didn't have this cape so I had to go waste a bunch of Manapearls buying benthic capes from the vendor until I got it. Fortunately it only tok 3 or 4 goes before I got it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Anyway, it's one of those trading games where you buy items from one murloc and trade it to another for another item and then trade those away for another item. I was tired, I should have sat down and done it properly with maths and all.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
There is one item that you have to get Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco, which is from a rare spawn guy named Murloco (found at 46, 37) inside a cage with a few waves of naga. Defeat them and he'll be around to take your order!</div>

Basically a patch like Timeless Isle/Tanaan Jungle where lots of rares to kill, new rep to get and world quests all over the place.<br />
<br />
But levelling up our Heart of Azeroth and sticking in essences gave us something to work on again with azerite. Pretty busy those first few days down in the Chamber in Silithus.<br />
<br />

<br />
Some of the guys were going at it pretty hard. Deci, Fin, Ram, Mesa, Mag - all of them were out there getting their BFA Pathfinder Part 2 so we could fly. Boy does that make a huge difference! The Wonderwing mount you get with it looks pretty cool too - robot parrot! I managed to get mine on the 11th just after dailies reset.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYLwW_uaQ4fCPGyzMLQdUMw_A-REoUO3HL7XNEu93vohyO-u7jc8ZhyOgbKuCL8wYeSbcaGttw3sQno3CDZ7lPCBfnMrUnub3iUkC94QL48pVo3CNy3huS5TvT6j9fk96ulKXGsy1j0yWc/s1600/Battle+for+Azeroth+Pathfinder+Part+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="304" data-original-width="505" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYLwW_uaQ4fCPGyzMLQdUMw_A-REoUO3HL7XNEu93vohyO-u7jc8ZhyOgbKuCL8wYeSbcaGttw3sQno3CDZ7lPCBfnMrUnub3iUkC94QL48pVo3CNy3huS5TvT6j9fk96ulKXGsy1j0yWc/s1600/Battle+for+Azeroth+Pathfinder+Part+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
War mode is joke as horde, there is no way you can do anything out in the world with alliance ganking you left, right and centre. Mechagon and Nazjatar are pretty full on with Alliance on Oceanic side, so the only time I did any warmode in the first week of patch was to do invasions. However, with flying, it's much more tolerable. You can fly away though net-o-matic can still get you.<br />
<br />
The other thing I did have a crack at was PvP islands. Managed to win a few, which was cool, some by having to PvP, some by just PvEing it faster than the other team. You get an essence (which I didn't find particularly useful) and I got some achievements, which was cool.<br />
<br />
Lots of pet battles, lots of rares, lots of everything to do. People seem to like Mechagon better than Nazjatar, and I think building stuff there with the engineer is cool (but boy, bag space RIP).<br />
<br />
Raid started on the 10th (which I'll write about next post) but it's good to see lots of people back in game. But for how long?<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-28958866097490355872019-07-02T06:00:00.000+10:002019-07-15T20:01:57.820+10:00Achievement - Feline Figurines FoundHK and I were wondering why there were a bunch of Naga in a cave when we were out doing a quest or a rare in Nazjatar, and when we killed them we went into the cave and saw a little Cat figurine. When we clicked it we realised it was part of an acheivement, so instead of doing our dailies, we went off hunting cat figurines....<br />

<br />
Crooked kept asking me if I had my totem yet. I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he said to go do the stuff from Baine, so off I went to do that. Didn't take long, and the totem on my back does look pretty cool. It's there instead of the cloak, and it's also hiding the weapon and shield (Crooked's shield was hidden thanks to the totem on his back!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For this achievement, you basically have to find all the Jani items and hand them in at her piles. Now, I didn't know there were a few hidden things with this achievement...<br />
<br />
The first thing was that there is a chest that appears in Dazar'alor near one of the bridges over the waterfall down the pyramid. I went looking for it after I got the achievement but couldn't find it, but 2 days later when I logged in I saw it on the minimap!<br />

There was an item in it to scrap, and when you scrap it, a new quest pops up which allows you to talk to Jani and you can turn all your Jani piles into scrappers! Before and after shots (where they turned a statue into a Jani pile)...<br />

After many long weeks (as I only had the time for one or two a week) I finally got them all done.<br />
<br />
Yes, I know there are not points it's just a Feat of Strength. Why did I do it? I have no idea. But maybe it was just to learn, maybe it was to hang out with some old friends, maybe it was to give me something to do in the lull before patch.<br />
<br />
Of all the ones I did, Siege of Boralas did my head in the most. 3 fails but the rest, with except maybe Motherlode which was I had to do twice, went reasonably smoothly. Let's just say keeping this mob hanging around last week when I was doing Siege of Boralas last week was making me worried.<br />

I think that would have been much more amusing than "<a href="https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=13410">Snow Fun Allowed</a>"...<br />
<br />
So the last achievement we did was the Jaina one. Interestingly, it was actually SUPER easy, compared to all the last boss achievements from previous tiers. We usually do them during the next tier so we overgear stuff and don't have to think so much. However, this time we could do it easily with our current achievement raid group.<br />
<br />
All you have to do is run through snow mounds on the ground during phase 2. Now it's during that blizzard bit, and there are 3 mounds to run through and it gives you a sparkly snowflake buff of some sort. 3 different people have to get it. Don't interrupt Jaina until everyone has their snow mound or they'll be gone!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFX7AJRAQ7GPhoY7Ml7H5-LmrriJ3Gd8ThpRB2VhGYlCiD2NUxRHaBJHSFkSax2gyRAYFpCgNkUCCjQU174wGmL0HQ5QghQxDgiI01Y3ZaJ0mS94-V3-q70R6wm8we05XMaN9Fx3f7oAWz/s1600/WoWScrnShot_061719_211709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="442" data-original-width="663" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFX7AJRAQ7GPhoY7Ml7H5-LmrriJ3Gd8ThpRB2VhGYlCiD2NUxRHaBJHSFkSax2gyRAYFpCgNkUCCjQU174wGmL0HQ5QghQxDgiI01Y3ZaJ0mS94-V3-q70R6wm8we05XMaN9Fx3f7oAWz/s400/WoWScrnShot_061719_211709.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Once we're into the fight and hitting Jaina, the 3 people have to run together and that forms a snowman. As long as they run near an ordinace so that when we drop broadsides on it and it explodes and makes that fire, it will melt the snowman.<br />
<br />
And... that's it! Achievement done!<br />
<br />

<br />
This time, we had Galestion AND Fin in raid, so we had a few more chances to be able to get the achievement. So, the idea is to have them complete their little fight when the boss has been engaged. You can put it down first before you start the pull, but if one of the Blingtrons (4000 maybe?) has hardly any health and dies really quickly so I would recommend putting them down on pull.<br />
<br />

<br />
In this pic you can see the Blingtron with a dead Blingtron next to it, and Blingtron MK2 that pops up once a Blingtron dies from defeat. Kill that mob first and then kill Mekka!<br />
<br />

<br />
Unfortunately we tried to get the Blockade achievement again (De Lurker Be'loa) for Gale and others who missed it but we couldn't get the CC right on the Lurker (kept being broken) so that was a bit of a doldrum. I guess next week it's Jaina!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-47665465220423760692019-06-07T23:23:00.000+10:002019-06-21T23:25:22.178+10:00Fail Friday - Well I learned something newWell, this is a 2 pronged Fail Friday.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I thought I'd be smart and try to clear Normal up to Mekkatorque so that we could start on our achievements straight up on the Monday. Mag came with me, looking for groups. I was wiping continuously on the first boss with my group and Mag had a group that had just done Opulence so I went with him. So, we did Conclave which was terrible but we got it, and then we were onto Rastakhan.<br />
<br />
I got to go into Bwonsamdi's realm, and it was amusing that one of the people in the raid kept calling him Bob Salami. Mag and I thought we should use that in raids from now on.<br />
<br />
Now this is where I learned my other interesting thing.<br />
<br />
Nobody in Bob Salami's realm knew that you had to get rid of your stacks and so it was getting pretty hard to heal even when I tried to tell them to run to the green doorway things to drop your stacks. Pretty soon just me and one other person were left alive. The Rastakhan group managed to kill Rastakhan and then the fight ended and BOOM! We were all dead. But, we successfully killed the boss! So, that's what I learned - you can kill Rastakhan without killing Bwonsamdi, but everyone dies!<br />
<br />
Is that the Fail Friday thing? Umm not quite.<br />
<br />
So the fail comes on Monday when we go to do our cleared instance... but it is not cleared. Because I didn't clear the first bosses, they are all still there, even the ones I already killed. I just can't loot them. SO I BASICALLY DID THAT RUN FOR NOTHING.<br />
<br />
Double fail!<br />
<br />

Yay for next few achievements!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6zhmW1ELBWQpikptIXy9DBWsWZf7kb5JCHmSW0lbSvH4MNCy_D-z4Z6wXlVtd2FOasf7q_JVW-xUvRVRolTfK8p8vf2ZDmW8Gzq1atBileu5PRiGcJRS-sGwIx86aHrWXtUH8V0_HOV8q/s1600/Walk+the+Dinosaur.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="106" data-original-width="372" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6zhmW1ELBWQpikptIXy9DBWsWZf7kb5JCHmSW0lbSvH4MNCy_D-z4Z6wXlVtd2FOasf7q_JVW-xUvRVRolTfK8p8vf2ZDmW8Gzq1atBileu5PRiGcJRS-sGwIx86aHrWXtUH8V0_HOV8q/s1600/Walk+the+Dinosaur.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The first one we tackled was Walk the Dinosaur. In this achievement, you have to keep at least one raptor from the first wave of Raptors alive for the whole fight. Annoying for those kiting, and it does easily so definitely STAY OFF THAT RAPTOR!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://media1.giphy.com/media/10QmYuAyMnm22Y/giphy.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="240" data-original-width="320" src="https://media1.giphy.com/media/10QmYuAyMnm22Y/giphy.gif" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Go on, sing it. I dare you.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The next achievement was rather easy. During the Rastakhan fight where we split, there are two adds in the live zone and they need to be tanked away by a 3rd tank and not hit so they can be alive by the end of the fight.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tmnBN9JHd60" width="560"></iframe><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh300BSDsngcS4DjxjI_S5v2Gjay3IJYaeBLVc6cnmKsKdjGyreZS8M7Vx9-wSS5t24qtwQMNVeQsox3i2rGgH4rLe9aWJtJCoN4ataxGCv6e2nup_2x7GIxOWqr-lwje9_QFRpxSYe3Sy/s1600/We+Got+Spirit%252C+How+about+You.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="110" data-original-width="372" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh300BSDsngcS4DjxjI_S5v2Gjay3IJYaeBLVc6cnmKsKdjGyreZS8M7Vx9-wSS5t24qtwQMNVeQsox3i2rGgH4rLe9aWJtJCoN4ataxGCv6e2nup_2x7GIxOWqr-lwje9_QFRpxSYe3Sy/s1600/We+Got+Spirit%252C+How+about+You.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br />
And the last achievement we did was the Blockade achievement. You may have seen what looks like a fishing pool on the left side when you're facing the boats? Well, someone has to stay behind and click on it to get Lurker up, then keep it up for the whole fight. A couple of things - you can't walk too far from it, or your "rope" will break. Lurker throws a whole bunch of crap at you that you have to dodge. Now, when we all get back from our boats, the beauty is that you can CC the lurker with paralyze or fear. If you don't do that, Lurker does annoying things like a big breath spray which shoots everyone off the deck who is in the path. And that happened a few times...<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga5YF-zdysOD4o2RsusuQ2qLLPJFzBIozzVqt8GL5egV6BGMb4P2OuGj3ieIxLnYAwl44jAmQwMy9AfA6pGVO2L6fICl_T4mMgHZAOh2zi2jo67kCdyZ4HHcMZVLoLSZfu1XqfsvwpH0ay/s1600/De+Lurker+Be%2527loa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="111" data-original-width="377" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga5YF-zdysOD4o2RsusuQ2qLLPJFzBIozzVqt8GL5egV6BGMb4P2OuGj3ieIxLnYAwl44jAmQwMy9AfA6pGVO2L6fICl_T4mMgHZAOh2zi2jo67kCdyZ4HHcMZVLoLSZfu1XqfsvwpH0ay/s1600/De+Lurker+Be%2527loa.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
3 more achieves down, 2 more to go! Yay!<br />

It was hard to get people together for this one. I was worried we wouldn't have enough people to do the G'Huun achievement, even if it was last tier.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But, I was being overly pessimistic.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The G'Huun achievement in Uldir is simple in concept - when you pick up the orb that you deposit into the hole, you have to not move when you've got the orb. Where we used to run with it, now you just have to slowly pass it from player to player and there is a small cooldown before you can throw it. Last tier we had to heal people when they were up there, but this time you don't really have to. Of course, we had backup because we sent healers up there to throw the ball just in case.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
You also get a 2 minute debuff once you have handled the orb, so you can't pick it up again ,which is why we had 3 maybe 4 teams of 2 carrying it before. With 10 people that didn't sound like a good thing. However it takes so long to throw the ball around that by the time the 2nd team has got the ball in, the debuff has only 15 seconds left on the first team.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
We had to clear all of Uldir on Sunday to get there, and we did a few achievements along the way which were easy (including Edgelords, because a <a href="http://frostwolves.blogspot.com/2018/11/fail-friday-kry-thought-this-was-good.html">certain someone stuffed that achievement up last time</a>).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So we stuffed up the first time and didn't really have time to do it again, so we said we'd come back on Monday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
On Monday, we went again, except we kinda stuffed up doing the balls again in phase 2 and then someone said why don't we just ignore the balls on phase 2 and just burn the boss?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
That worked a treat. SO much easier!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_CPA-MskqofugjG4q1Y4kTM6eNrq6lBf3RZgwzuNF7k9-y2-U_BKVOud19AkIPrlRvJJhgHdZIXSzWLUzaHXyEABm6yhfmpGTeP07f0hYq_NH3nw807LZSPq7g3yHvsBypvDjqrCE-8Sq/s1600/Glory+of+the+Uldir+Raider+and+Double+Dribble.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="368" data-original-width="379" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_CPA-MskqofugjG4q1Y4kTM6eNrq6lBf3RZgwzuNF7k9-y2-U_BKVOud19AkIPrlRvJJhgHdZIXSzWLUzaHXyEABm6yhfmpGTeP07f0hYq_NH3nw807LZSPq7g3yHvsBypvDjqrCE-8Sq/s1600/Glory+of+the+Uldir+Raider+and+Double+Dribble.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Interestingly, only 4 of us got the achievement. I was sure more people were there that had attended all raids!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

Yay, another mount, another achievement. Uldir clear!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-74043854939942142372019-05-27T23:00:00.000+10:002019-06-03T21:00:42.510+10:00Pet Brawler meanie!Pet battle week is a good week to do PvP pet battles - or is it?<br />
<br />
Sometimes you just get smashed when you're trying to do the Family Pet Battle achievements. And there are more serious pet battlers out during that time.<br />
<br />
However, there are also not so experienced people out there too!<br />
<br />
So on the 27th I managed to get the last few of each family done! Yes, it did help a lot that my friends were battling as well to get their 5 pet wins for the week...<br />
<br />
My dragonkin 3 worked well with one that had Mana surge (eg Nexus Whelpling), Life exchange (eg Nether Faerie dragon) and I used Bronze Whelpling for Early Advantage and Lift Off. I did pretty horribly when I came up against someone trying to do their Humanoid Brawler - I should have just quit instead of trying to beat them.<br />
<br />
Humanoid brawler worked well with Lil' Bling (for Make it Rain and Inflation), Gregarious Grell (for Cauterise and the Dodge), and Winter's Little Helper (for Blizzard, Ice Lance and Gift of Winter Veil). But it was pretty hit or miss, really.<br />
<br />
Flying I was lazy and used Triple Darkness.<br />
<br />
Undead you can't really go wrong with an Undead Val'kyr, and I tried using combinations of Frosty for Blistering Cold, Fragment of Anger (for Soul Rush and various other combinations), and Giant Bone Spider to try to heal myself. Wasn't really the best combo to tell you the truth.<br />
<br />
I can't remember my Magic or critter combos!<br />
<br />
Anyway, if you had a comp that worked well, drop me a line! I'll try it out next pet battle week :)<br />

And the reward? A Tabard with a pet battle paw on it. Well, that went straight into the appearances tab... never to be seen again...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-55553426650611776362019-05-26T23:30:00.000+10:002019-06-03T19:59:01.773+10:00Sunday achievement raid - First four achieves in Battle of Dazar'alor<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
When interest in raiding dies down it's time for achievements! We only need 10 people on to do them (well, usually) and the first ones in Dazar'alor are much easier than some other achievements I can think of!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The first boss, Champion of light has a rather easy achievement. As you enter the room on the right there is a Jani pile of trash (Mysterious Trashpile). Click on it and you'll get a buff <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/spell=288579/janis-favor">Jani's favor</a>, which will make you turn into a saurid at random intervals, with an action button.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
There are 3 enemies in the encounter - the Crusaders (that you face away from), the Disciples (who run around healing and being generally annoying) and the Champion (named boss). Go up to them when you're a saurid, click the action button and take the shiny you stole back to the Mysterious Trashpile. Get 3 shinies from each of the enemies and then kill the boss. The stupid thing doesn't track so you have to manually track it (getting people to call out after they collect is easiest), and also we said to do the mobs one by one - ie, do all the Crusaders first, then when you're done move on to the Disciples, then do the Champion (since usually they're the last one standing). Then BOOM you're done!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRO_SHqjbW1jzojjlbiUWUjiQ1tqX8nF-znXzVIPTun3hj2-16rMqSP55SJyfkFdi6lcrh-46uea61WC10L-J5HuSd9MIBYOu9kI8rnwtlej9niie4uvYWULmwDi96Wfk2QhZGWItbDxQK/s1600/Can+I+get+a+Hek+Hek+Hek+Yeah.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="107" data-original-width="368" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRO_SHqjbW1jzojjlbiUWUjiQ1tqX8nF-znXzVIPTun3hj2-16rMqSP55SJyfkFdi6lcrh-46uea61WC10L-J5HuSd9MIBYOu9kI8rnwtlej9niie4uvYWULmwDi96Wfk2QhZGWItbDxQK/s1600/Can+I+get+a+Hek+Hek+Hek+Yeah.png" /></a></div>
<br />
The next boss is Grong, so the achievement is a Donkey Kong reference. Gorillas and barrels...<br />
<br />
There are 6 barrels at the bottom of the stairs which have to be destroyed by Grong's Reverberating Slam. However for each barrel he destroys he gains a 20% damage buff which stacks and resets each time he destroys a barrel. So you can zerg it if you can take the damage (oof a 120% tantrum damage ouch), get the melee to stack on the barrels so he will face the barrels and damage them instead of turning around and we all groan on the inside...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh20LkZASO69zcLPvf65xIYH6KZGQLJB-RE-sOWAAGB_XoYj1gV8lPuwAhcX3yGb9IzW6cx6qsViyyHoCFoV85CLXIA5cChaOxKJ9quZvTFjQv49p50QBV7bZ15qt0FmU_BTwPoboa9nzDo/s1600/Barrel+of+Monkeys.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="105" data-original-width="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh20LkZASO69zcLPvf65xIYH6KZGQLJB-RE-sOWAAGB_XoYj1gV8lPuwAhcX3yGb9IzW6cx6qsViyyHoCFoV85CLXIA5cChaOxKJ9quZvTFjQv49p50QBV7bZ15qt0FmU_BTwPoboa9nzDo/s1600/Barrel+of+Monkeys.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The third boss, Jadefire Masters, has a slightly different achievement. Kinda reminds me of the Ji-Kun achievement, Soft Hands.<br />
<br />
There is a hidden egg that only shows up when you practically stand on it. Here it is on Horde side - if you're facing the boss, it's behind you and to the left.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQtPKJrl2H9Qr6X7oUAjTKHZGQ1MCwHakNtBU4BR6SDayjl92RrSyRTltP3umV23yLBXcWHDx8k4UluVYTQzT2ZqSiux51YLc3yFWDxFLoHeG7yIIbbWr-8VLSoLK2VjOsSn7_Q820jjqe/s1600/WoWScrnShot_052619_211305.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="849" data-original-width="849" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQtPKJrl2H9Qr6X7oUAjTKHZGQ1MCwHakNtBU4BR6SDayjl92RrSyRTltP3umV23yLBXcWHDx8k4UluVYTQzT2ZqSiux51YLc3yFWDxFLoHeG7yIIbbWr-8VLSoLK2VjOsSn7_Q820jjqe/s400/WoWScrnShot_052619_211305.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
As you do the fight, you have to make sure no fire damages it. So we picked it up after the Living Bombs. Crooked was the designated carrier, and that also meant he could use no abilities because that would also break it. He spent most of the fight at range so that accidental fires didn't break it. Phase 2 running around and dodging fires was fun for him and we had to make sure someone hung back to heal Crooked since he couldn't heal himself.<br />
<br />
Then the annoying part, the dragon had to breathe fire on the egg. It doesn't do anything that we could see that showed us it had been breathed on so we had it breathed on a few times just to be sure and then we killed the boss. Success!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Opulence's achievement was a personal one. You need to have one person (at least) have their Singing Sunflower out. The more the better!<br />
<br />
During the fight when someone picks up gems, someone needs to get the Topaz. When they act like Nigels and stand on their own they get stacks of <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/spell=284664/incandescence">Incadescence</a>. Once they get to 100 stacks with the topaz they get the <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/spell=284798/grossly-incandescent">Grossly Incandescent</a> aura which affects people 20 yards around them, giving everyone a <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/spell=284802/brilliant-aura">Brilliant Aura</a> buff. /praise your singing sunflower when you have that buff and you get the achievement after the boss dies.<br />

<br />
A few people missed out, so the next time we're in there we'll have to hit that up again.<br />
<br />
Well, if we do a few every week we'll get these knocked over in no time! I wonder if we can do the final achievement when the tier is current... we usually do it during the next tier when we've overgeared it a bit. Good work though, Frostwolves, onwards to Glory!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-44263742966175777092019-05-23T22:00:00.000+10:002019-06-03T19:17:05.396+10:00Guildleader chores - I think that's it for raiding this patchThis hasn't been a super exciting tier, and people have been off having fun playing other things - Final Fantasy has been quite a pull, with lots of guildies off playing that. Splatz decided that he was going to take a break from raiding, and Mag and Deci followed suit. Gen and Ram went on holidays (but they also have been not very regularly attending raids), so it's been difficult to scramble from raid day to raid day figuring out what we're going to for tanks and heals.<br />

<br />
This week, I have had enough of struggling for it. There are so many things I need to catch up on, such as PvP, achievements, pet battles... OMG the list is endless!<br />
<br />
Anyway, I'll still be here. I still have things to do. But I think you can see even my enthusiasm is not what it once was - judging by the frequency of my posts LOL!<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-71174257611523150792019-05-16T07:28:00.000+10:002019-05-27T07:28:45.581+10:00Fail Friday - Why can't I complete this quest?So I was a bit lazy in doing the Campaign stuff, and after we killed Uu'nat, I thought hmm, maybe I should finish that quest line. But where is it?<br />
<br />
Kill Naga, my guildies told me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://i.imgur.com/CBDR4XK.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="471" height="320" src="https://i.imgur.com/CBDR4XK.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<br />
So off I went to do the Naga Attack world quest (the one that gives you the stupid pearl that I thought was an item but is actually a buff) and I got the quest thing to get it started and off I went to hand it in to the Tortollans.<br />
<br />
I got distracted after that doing something else, but then later in the week I thought I'd come back to it. But I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go. I entered the quest into Wowhead and it showed me a place in Zuldazar where there were Naga, but there was nothing to do there.<br />
<br />
Then it dawned on me. Was I supposed to do something else after going to speak to the Tortollan guy?<br />
<br />
I went back to where I got the quest. Oh. There's a knife on the table. That one that talks to you. The legendary one.<br />
<br />
Oh oops, I was supposed to pick that up!<br />
<br />
Now it all makes sense to me....Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-67241709539924959222019-05-14T02:00:00.000+10:002019-05-17T20:33:38.863+10:00Raiding - Ahead of the Curve Uu'nat<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
You know, having missed the beginning of the raid due to being overseas, I found it hard to drum up enthusiasm for the raid, especially when the loot seemed to be so lacklustre. However, it doesn't mean it's not exciting when things die and achievements pop up!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The first boss is annoying. I can't get my head around the interrupts so I feel like all I am doing is healing the ranged tank and dispelling stuff when bad things happen and run around soaking little swirlies. Nobody wants anything from that boss!</div>

This boss, it took me a while to figure out. I was doing the void crystal thing all wrong. When I figured it out, I felt better, but I haven't figure out when to do it without Splatz telling me when I should be doing it.</div>

However, Uu'nat has stuff that people want. We were pretty chuffed to get that down toinght and get our Ahead of the Curve too! Though, in reality, does it mean much since none of us really like this raid?? 12 of us got our achievement, woo!</div>

Grats us! What I am excited about is the lack of interest in normal raids on Sunday. You know what that means! Time for achievement runs on normal! Still have one more to get for last raid, and work on Battle for Dazar'alor achieves. Looking forward to Sunday!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-75452146076354495512019-05-05T20:47:00.000+10:002019-05-17T20:48:38.408+10:00Children's Week - Yeah, great for when you have alts...I shouldn't really moan about the fact that Children's week has four new pets - I am sure those pets are supposed to be lasting us for the next couple of years (ie they won't put in new Children's week things) because they didn't put any new things for Children's week for YEARS.<br />
<br />
But, you can get the new pets if you have four alts that are 110 and above. I only have 2 characters eligble (Navimie and Minndy), so off they went to get the pet. Here is little Azala, a cheeky Zandalari orphan.<br />

Why that pesky little ....Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-82259003702683675932019-05-03T19:04:00.000+10:002019-05-06T19:04:59.787+10:00Fail Friday - Err, guess I was a bit rustyTouchdown on Saturday and as soon as I got the kids in bed and had a shower after returning from New Zealand, I was logging in to do some M+.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Warmed up with a 10, and we didn't make it in time - well, I thought I was a bit rusty. Maybe HK was too. We hadn't played in a few weeks after all, and maybe muscle memory needed some exercise.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When we finished the dungeon, I opened my bag and I noticed my staff was in my bag. Huh. That's weird. Then it dawned on me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I just healed that whole dungeon without equipping a bloody weapon.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://media1.tenor.com/images/e6a71d3a2046c9c3ace17b571acca4ce/tenor.gif?itemid=9129348" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="228" data-original-width="404" src="https://media1.tenor.com/images/e6a71d3a2046c9c3ace17b571acca4ce/tenor.gif?itemid=9129348" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It wasn't TOTALLY terrible, I did have an offhand equipped for some odd reason...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well whoops. We did an 11 after that which was in time. I wonder if that was because I had a weapon equipped that time??</div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-79479459167593719642019-05-02T23:30:00.000+10:002019-05-11T15:05:11.888+10:00Raiding - Pugging Mythic is now the thingSo we now pug up a Mythic Champions because it's been cross server for... oh a while now (since before I went overseas) and on my first one coming back I put us up in the finder and were looking for a mage.<br />
<br />
A person whispers me linking their Mythic Blockade achievement, but s/he's clearly on a low level alt. I didn't reply and was looking through the other candidates but the person kept whispering me. I can't keep typing s/he, so I'll just call this person Bob.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJFFz1NWiYLCl9oBaYpnmB85Qm68RUtL3c2Y_KWSDnMBeQeYnXAHC05rMapb4cth_5NVGlNFeXommIzsqeBZmvAkNfCdqZK_Q9Lux6KxIv-J_N9dAowIM6u0xRXlfioJngTM5c8nH29eo4/s1600/Bob.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="618" data-original-width="949" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJFFz1NWiYLCl9oBaYpnmB85Qm68RUtL3c2Y_KWSDnMBeQeYnXAHC05rMapb4cth_5NVGlNFeXommIzsqeBZmvAkNfCdqZK_Q9Lux6KxIv-J_N9dAowIM6u0xRXlfioJngTM5c8nH29eo4/s400/Bob.png" width="400" /></a></div>
So Bob keeps saying "Why do you want a mage? I know the fights, I'll be really good." I was still browsing through the other candidates and yet more whispers asking to be included. Oh well, what the hell, I decided to say ok. Everyone in the raid was curious about this amazing Bob and whether he would be any good.<br />
<br />
So we invite Bob, and we do our run, which wasn't perfect but it was ok, but Bob was hardly a star. We were even making jokes throughout the raid about various things. Someone mentioned that Bob hardly did amazing damage (Bob was very low) and Bob got grouchy thinking we were all a bunch of elitists, and I was like... wow. Bob talked themself up saying that we were missing out without Bob there and when Bob did not perform, got all snappy at us.<br />
<br />
That'll teach me to trust Bob!<br />
<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-962496582850229932019-04-29T23:30:00.001+10:002019-05-06T19:39:38.121+10:00Raiding - Welcome back to raidingMonday. There was heroic Crucible on Monday planned and I hadn't watched any videos - not that it helps me anyway, I feel like I watch it and still get confused. It's easier for me to watch a video of someone braiding hair or doing a knitting or crochet stitch than it is for me to follow and understand a raid. I think I'm getting old.<br />
<br />
I read Ram's notes about what we were supposed to do and tried my best to follow along. Interrupts were a little bit weird but eventually we got there and we landed a kill. Yay! I really did find the fight super confusing. I think I need to practice it more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguosJ0tBHMBweCEz92vfjqx0QcelpsrMBgmilnN2xc3IZNDfdsb4j8g2Yiuc8dsUjys4qbCIAdOii7Gi6GrgXH0-0O-aiM1_xD2CjpVHPfDDdu2AVfxsNnOPD7w9lWTtJWUp4LhFQDGJXu/s1600/The+Restless+Cabal+with+date.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="901" data-original-width="1600" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguosJ0tBHMBweCEz92vfjqx0QcelpsrMBgmilnN2xc3IZNDfdsb4j8g2Yiuc8dsUjys4qbCIAdOii7Gi6GrgXH0-0O-aiM1_xD2CjpVHPfDDdu2AVfxsNnOPD7w9lWTtJWUp4LhFQDGJXu/s640/The+Restless+Cabal+with+date.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We had a go at the 2nd boss too, but we didn't have much time left. We had a decent attempt at it though, and perhaps with more practice we might get it....<br />
<br />
The bummy thing was the ragtag start of raid. It took ages to get started because people were straggling in and I could tell people wanted another go at the 2nd boss because it was late and we wasted half an hour waiting for people. I'd better reinforce the AFK and not waiting for people thing. But it's so annoying when some of those missing are key role peeps...<br />
<br />
Anyway, that was a nice welcome back to raiding! Thanks for not killing it when I was away guys, so I could at least get a screenshot!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9139205590317840868.post-40969859064883998792019-04-13T00:00:00.000+10:002019-04-27T23:43:27.673+10:00Minipost - I'm going to miss out on new raid!Someone mentioned to me that the new raid comes out on the 17th. Uh oh... I'm going to be away for the new raid!<br />
<br />

<br />
Man, that hasn't happened to me before, I don't think.<br />
<br />
Well, I'm more worried that missing a healer and a tank (since I'm taking HK with me on my holiday too to help drive) might set the raid back a bit. Hopefully it won't be too much! I guess the advantage is that I'll get to be carried through it when I get back! Ram can tank, Kry can tank, and there are some other healers around. It might be ok. It might not. I'll find out when I'm back!<br />
<br />
Edit note 27/4/19: Yes I had this sitting as a draft until I came back, and I just finished it. So I totally missed the raid. And, it doesn't look like I missed too much - no heroic kills yet. AT LEAST I CAN BE IN THE PICS FOR THAT ONE!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
